Why is my electronic cigarette leaking?
When you are a vaper, you can have problems with leaks, gurgling, or e-liquid rising with your electronic cigarette. Rest assured, these problems do not necessarily come from defective hardware. In this article, we take stock of the causes, and the solutions to remedy these hassles.
LEAKS, GURGLING HOW TO OVERCOME THEM
We don’t vape as we smoke
When you start vaping, you tend to pull on your electronic cigarette like a smoked cigarette. In reality, we do not vape as we smoke. A draw that is too strong and too fast on your vape can cause e-liquid to rise in the chimney of your tank (clearomizer). As a result, we can face projections of droplets, gurgling or leaks through the mouthpiece (drip-tip).
To put an end to these inconveniences, vape in a slower and more spaced way than on a tobacco cigarette. We recommend that you count about 3 seconds when you take your e-cigarette, and space each puff about 10 seconds apart. Thus, the cotton present in your resistance will soak correctly with the e-liquid present in your clearomiser.
An incorrectly tuned electronic cigarette
Leaks can be the cause of poor vaporization of the e-liquid, due to a power (watt) that is too low depending on the value (Ohm) of resistance used. Just as if the watts are set beyond the recommended power for the resistance used, there is a risk of burning the latter.
As a general rule, the manufacturers mention the recommended power directly on the resistors or their packaging. Namely that there are also batteries which will automatically adapt the watts according to the resistance used.

When you inhale the steam, it passes through the chimney of the clearomizer. Therefore, it is normal for some condensation to remain along the walls of the latter. Indeed, by cooling the condensation is transformed into droplets.
To prevent these droplets from flowing through your drip-tip (mouthpiece), we recommend that you regularly wipe the chimney of your tank with a paper towel.
The condensation

An e-liquid incompatible with the material
It is important to check that the PG/VG rate is compatible with the tank model being used. For example, you will have leaks if you use a clearomiser dedicated to direct inhaling, with an e-liquid whose percentage of PG (propylene glycol) is high . As if you use a more classic clearomiser, avoid e-liquids with a high VG (vegetable glycerin) content. Indeed, the liquid will be too greasy and the cotton of your resistances will have difficulty soaking up properly.
To do this, we recommend that you vape e-liquids with a maximum PG content of 50% if you use a direct inhalation clearomiser. For standard tanks, you can vape an e-liquid with a maximum of 60% VG.
Joint sealing
Due to damaged seals, leaks can be observed on the tank. Indeed, the heat released by the resistance of your electronic cigarette can expand them and make them less waterproof. Also, a bad assembly of your clearomiser can create leaks.
To do this, be sure to assemble all the elements (airflow base, seals, resistors, tank, top-cap, drip-tip). If your seals are damaged, you will find some in the packaging of your tank.
