THE BEST TIPS FOR PROPERLY STORING YOUR E-LIQUID

A bottle of e-liquid can last two to five years when stored in optimal conditions. The first trick you need to learn to properly store your e-liquid is to only open one bottle of each flavour at a time.

Indeed, an opened bottle of e-liquid has a much shorter shelf life than an intact bottle, straight out of the factory and still sealed.

So if you want to make sure your supply is efficient and lasts much more than a few months, don’t open your entire stock at once. This way, the next bottle of e-liquid you open will taste fresh and new so you can enjoy it to the fullest.

Store your e-liquid in the fridge

Did you know that e-liquid can be stored in the same way as food products? For example, if you put fruit in the fridge instead of on the counter, it will stay intact and crispy much longer.

Freshening your e-liquid works the same way.

E-liquid should be stored in a cool, dark place where there are a few changes as possible. So it becomes obvious that your fridge (with the lights off when the door is closed) is the perfect place to give your stored e-liquid the longest life possible.

If you don’t have enough space in your fridge for all your e-liquid bottles, other methods work almost as well to keep them fresh. Ideally, your e-liquid should be no warmer than room temperature in the shade, so don’t store it directly under spotlights or near electronic devices.

Instead, store your DIY e-liquid in one of your cupboard drawers or in a dark box to make sure it won’t be exposed to light or heat for the duration of its storage.

Reseal your unused e-liquid bottle

If you open a bottle of e-liquid but can’t finish it, fear not because all is not lost. If, for example, you don’t like the flavour and you decide to give it to a friend, resealing is always a valid option.

All you will need is a thick piece of tape wrapped around the base of the lid and firmly connecting the lid to the bottle. If done correctly, this can seriously reduce the amount of air exposure and resulting decomposition, which automatically increases the life of your e-liquid bottle.

Finally, we offer you a last bit of advice: for perfect long-term storage, remember to keep your e-liquid in tinted glass bottles. This will greatly reduce the risk of overheating, and exposure to light and air.
